FIELD WORK IN THE APPALACHIANS
We've been working in Pennsylvania in the classic Catskill clastic wedge of the Appalachian foreland basin. Working in PA has been a new experience because most of the Appalachian rocks are covered by vegetation, so the best outcrops are along road cuts. We've been using detrital geochronology and thermochronology to reconstruct Devonian-Mississippian sediment routing systems to the Appalachian foreland basin.
